Bank holiday

I hope you all had a Happy Easter and that there is still some chocolate left over.

Yesterday was very much a family day for me with my mother-in-law coming round and spending the day with us. For the first time in twenty years I cooked a joint of lamb (my wife has never allowed it before - she doesn't like the idea of eating lambs so until yesterday it's been a no no). I also roasted a joint of pork so everyone had a choice. Needless to say the lamb is all gone and half the pork is still left. My daughter in particular liked the lamb and helped me finish it last night, cold with some pickles.

Today is shaping up to be a bit of a DIY day.
The plumber has left us with some very dodgy floorboards which need replacing today. I also need to get into the loft to remove anything fragile because the roofers start tomorrow on replacing our old slate roof with a new one. The door on the boiler cupboard also needs replacing so I need to repair the framework for that.

Somewhere in amongst all that I might find time to get some figure painting done.

The up side is that because we'll (my wife and I) be spending a lot of today working togetehr I'll be able to slip off to the club for an hour or so tonight. Maybe longer if we end up argueing as we normally do when it comes to DIY in partnership (anyone married to a someone who understands power tools?).
