Church money rebate

The rain finally stopped last night and we woke up to a clear morning though it was still dark.  Back to a more normal temperature of 30 degrees.  When the sun came up it was one of those bright, clear, fresh smelling mornings.  The kind that make you glad to be outside walking.  The stream that runs along the path on the way to the lake was high after all the rain, was muddy and running fast.

It was a nice walk around the lake and saw quite a few of the regulars.  Stopped a few times for a little chat with some of them.  I'm surprised i didn't see the lady from yesterday, maybe tomorrow. 
The only wild life today were the geese and birds.
I found another lucky penny.
I walked 6.6 miles.

We never did go out last night when Ken got home.  Rained really hard and was just a miserable night to be out, so i never did get my ice cream.  BUT today's another day, well go out tonight instead.

Didn't post a picture of my haircut because i didn't like any of the pictures i took.  It is hard to take your own picture!!

I have mentioned quite a few times about the path i walk along that leads to the lake.  This path is right down the road from my house and starts out by the parking lot at my church. I am standing in the church parking lot to take this picture.  I come across the wooden foot bridge to the right and follow the path to the lake.

35 years ago my pastor and his wife started the church and when the land was purchased to build the building the land where the path is on belonged to the church.  About six months or so before i moved here the county bought some of the land behind the church to put the path on.

The part of the story that is interesting is that the price of the land when it was purchased all those years ago was the same amount that the church got for the land that was sold for the path!!  So the church got their money back!!  Pretty amazing!!  Coincidence or God at work?!  Somehow i feel it's God at work!!!

I've been home today just doing stuff around the house - just regular cleaning.


I'm going to make manicotti for supper tonight and was going to make it early in the day, put it in the refrigerator and then just pop it in the oven to cook at supper time.  Boiling the noodles is the part i don't like to do and it is hard to stuff the tubes when they are wet and soft, and takes a long time.  I was reading the package and it said that you could stuff the tubes without cooking them first.  Only thing different was that you have to heat up the sauce to boiling first with some water added and use that when preparing the dish.  It bakes in a hotter oven of 400 degrees instead of 350.
Since i don't have to cook the noodles first i decided to wait and make it later just in time for supper.
I'll let you know how it turns out.


So until it is time to do that i will be upstairs in my loft sewing some weave-it squares together making them into a blanket.  It's the same one i finished last month, just didn't finish the sewing it together part.  It is the one that i will be raffling off for charity that i mentioned a while back.  I'll be telling you all about it next week or when i have a picture of the finished blanket.
